As of Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Division of Aquaculture says the oyster beds in Wakulla County are open and safe. But they are being monitored in case red tide moves into that area. Any shellfish harvested by commercial fishermen that are now on the market have been inspected and should be safe to eat. But the supply will be low.
If you eat shellfish harvested by recreational fishermen, you do it at your own risk.
Apalachicola bay remains closed because of red tide.
