As we've reported, lead has been a threat in dental products such as bridges, crowns, and more. May 2nd, the Florida Senate passed a bill that included a point of origin for dental lab products, requiring dental labs to document where all their work and materials come from. The Florida Dental Association says Florida is the very first state to enact such a mandate.

Bennett Napier, with the National Association of Dental Labs said, "We were able to get pretty good momentum going into the legislative session due to a documented case of lead in dental work"

Buddy Wester, a Certified Dental Technician said, "I think it's a positive thing for profession as well as for the patient because ultimately the patient is the one that is the most important here."

The American Dental Association has launched a large scale investigation into the safety of foreign and domestic dental manufacturing.
