Tallahassee residents wake up to find their cars burglarized and another one stolen. Investigators say it all could've been prevented.
At least five cars were broken into in the Avondale neighborhood, and it was easy access for the bad guys who only had to open the unlocked doors.
Detectives spotted the thieves after they crashed the stolen car into a tree. The rest of the booty was found during a foot chase.
"No forced entry in any of them, the one that they stole, conveniently had a hide-a-key, they were able to find, so most important thing, lock your car doors and they'll go on to the next one."
Both Matthew Slater and Noah Weston are now in the Leon County Jail charged with burglary.
