No doubt about it, we sure do love our pizza! In fact, recent surveys showed that, as a nation, we eat about 350 slices of pizza per second! And with October being National Pizza Month, here's how we can turn dinner into a pizza celebration.
Watch this one: In a skillet, over medium-high heat, we brown 1 pound of ground beef until no pink remains, drain it, add in 1 can of Italian-style diced tomatoes, and cook the mixture until it's heated through.
Meanwhile, unroll 1 container of refrigerated pizza crust, and press it over the bottom and halfway up the sides of a 9" x 13" sprayed baking dish.
Sprinkle on 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, spread the meat mixture over that, and bake it off in a preheated 425°F oven for 12 minutes.
Sprinkle on another cup of shredded mozzarella and 1/4 cup Parmesan.
Give it 2 to 3 minutes more, until the cheese melts, and dinner is ready! And there are no rules – use any brands you want.
Pile on a few of your favorite toppings before baking, if you want, like pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers, you know, those kinds of things.
