It was a grisly day of testimony in a Tallahassee murder trial as Allan Rush stands accused of sexually assaulting and killing his ex-girlfriend.
Thursday a toxicologist took the stand, and later in the day a medical examiner who described in excruciating detail the injuries Sarah Fields suffered the night she died.
He says he has no doubt Fields died of bleeding from internal injuries, and not from a toxic level of anti-psychotic drugs in her system, but the defense began to mount its case, calling another medical examiner to the stand who disputes those findings.
The case is expected to go to the jury Friday.
