The family of a murdered Lowndes County mother is asking for your help in bringing a killer to justice.
The family of 29-year-old Deidre Miller is still trying to recover from her brutal murder earlier this week.
Deidre's brother, Randall Godfrey of the NFL's San Diego Chargers, has returned home to Lowndes County to help his family through this difficult time.
Randall Godfrey says, "I've never really experienced this with someone so close to me. My sister and I grew up together, and to lose her in this fashion is very disappointing. We're staying strong, my family and I, we're staying strong."
Both Deidre's family and local law enforcement authorities say bringing their suspect, Julonda Lecedrick Clayton, into custody continues to be the top priority.
He's described as a black male, 5’10”, 170 pounds. He was last seen driving a dark blue Chevy Avalanche with the Florida license plate X25 BTA.
J.D. Yeager of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says, "They need closure, we need closure to it right now. We have a safety concern. We've got somebody that's got murder warrants out on the street. Whether it’s here, Jacksonville, Atlanta or wherever, we need to get him into custody."
Godfrey adds, "To lose a family member, it just hits home, and I'm gonna do whatever it takes to help find this guys and make sure justice is served."
Investigators say they continue to process leads and they remain hopeful that Clayton can be found and brought to justice soon.
Authorities suspect that Clayton is hiding out somewhere in Florida or Georgia. If you have any information, please call 9-1-1.
