This weekend kicks off National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week.
To celebrate, the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center will be hosting different activities all week. Saturday's event was a homecoming reunion for animals that have been adopted from the shelter.
The turnout was pretty good, as owners brought their adopted pets back to the place where they met. The fun-filled event was just the perfect occasion for owners to say hello to those who helped with the adoption.
Jack Brennan and Elenita Gomez adopted a pet and say, "I think it's good, the people here get to see him and see what they've accomplished by rescuing the dogs and putting them in good homes. I don't know if he even remembers this place, but he enjoys coming back."
The animals were given certificates with their paw print. Other events during the week include a pet adopt-a-thon next Saturday, where adoption fees will be cut in half.
