Tallahassee, FL -January 7, 2013 - A local sorority hosted an event honoring young girls they've helped mentor.
The Chi Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha had its 2013 Miss Calendar Girl Pageant this weekend. It was held at the restoration place off of North Monroe.
The event highlights the high moral character, academic excellence and humility of the contestants.
Seven girls were recognized, and three of them received college scholarships and awards. The winner received a one thousand dollar scholarship
