Thanksgiving is taking on a whole new meaning for one Gadsden County family. That's because this year they're giving thanks for two newly adopted family members.
Kimberly Crews says she met 15-year-old Empress and 14-year-old Lauren when they were in foster homes, and after some thinking she called her husband at work.
Charles Crews says, "It makes us feel as though we can give somebody else a chance."
Empress Crews isn't just excited about the food this Thanksgiving. It's the first holiday she and Lauren will officially be a part of the Crews. Last Saturday on National Adoption Day, Lauren and Empress were both officially adopted.
