The Christmas Connection is gearing up for a busy weekend as it collects donations for more than 800 financially struggling families.
One of the families counting on that is this family in Madison. A disabled teenager lives with her parents and young cousin in a mobile home there. They can pay the bills, but there is no money for extras and gifts.
The 15-year-old needs clothing in a women's size 16. She'd like a CD player, and both she and her seven-year-old cousin would like cuddly baby dolls. Her parents would like religious books and some pots and pans. This is case 55.
If you'd like to help this family or any other, the Christmas Connection is open Saturday from 9 to 5 at the corner of Tharpe and Old Bainbridge, and they always need volunteers.
Right now they need some strong handy ones to put up shelves. For more information, log on to www.thechristmasconnection.org or call 222-2180.
