Senior citizens got the opportunity to voice their concerns to U.S. Congressman Allen Boyd.
Congressman Boyd partnered with the Taylor County Senior Citizens Center's Board for Ideas on how to improve senior services in the county.
Seniors told Boyd that they would like to see the center become more active in the community and provide more services.
U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd, (D) 2nd District, Florida, says, "We made certain promises to them that we struggle with from time to time, so I wanted to come out and visit with these folks and talk to their leadership about their facilities and their needs."
Elouise Gardiner, a Taylor County senior, says, "We're very excited that [Congressman] Boyd took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit with us. We're very pleased with the progress that we have made so far with the center, but we have a long way to go and we need all the help that we can possibly get."
The board has asked the congressman for financial assistance to get air conditioning and central heating in the center.
