From the stands to the streets, Vikings fans are not done celebrating!
LHS Principal Wes Taylor says, "It's in celebration of the 2005 5-A state football championship."
Student Brocky Favor says, "To tell everybody about us winning the state championship back to back."
Fans of all ages lined the streets of Valdosta to get another look at their state champions.
Lorri Taylor says, "I just like cheering on the team."
Cheerleaders, football players and band members all enjoyed the community's recognition. Lowndes High School Principal Wes Taylor says although he's proud of his student athletes, it's not just about them.
Taylor says, "It's a way for us to say thank you to our community. They support so much of what we do all year long, and this is just a way to say thank you."
The parade ended back at the stadium where the Georgia High School Association presented the championship trophy to the Vikings, a trophy the whole team gladly accepted.
This is the second year in a row the Vikings have won the state championship. Both the players and the coaches say it's a feeling they could get used to.
