It's a growing trend around the country and in Tallahassee, paying someone to put up your holiday decorations. Many are leaving it to the experts.
Trimming the tree is supposed to be a fun holiday tradition, but there is a new service in our area that allows you to sit back and relax while someone else does the hard work.
Ralph Esposito, general manager at a local garden shop, said, "People just don't want to get on a ladder anymore. Now that there's a service available, that's worth the money to them."
Home decorations are getting easier; just make your requests and by the time you come home from work the job is already done.
Mary Watts loves the idea and adds, "I think it's a great idea. After 40 I don't do ladders, so I would much rather have someone come and climb and do my decorations."
Customers can request anything from a little help getting their tree inside to bigger things like a flying Santa.
Ralph Esposito adds, "It's their house, and if they want pink polka dot lights that's what we're going to put on there for them."
Filling customers’ requests is just the beginning.
Blake Rosenkoutter, a house decorator, said, "After we do a house, one strand might go out and we have to go back and fix it, so you can't do anything about it, they're just going to go out."
After the holidays all you have to do is pick up the phone and request the decorations are taken down.
Believe it or not, home decorators say they have been busy for the past month and a half and are almost booked through Christmas.
