A bank robber stuck in Tallahassee Wednesday morning, but didn’t get far with the money.
The man was found hiding in the bushes right next door to the bank with cash in his pockets. It all happened at the Capital City Bank on the corner of Monroe and Tennessee streets at about 9:15 a.m.
Police say 55-year-old James Brown robbed the bank and fled, but Tallahassee police were nearby and quickly spotted Brown near a staircase at St. Johns.
Dave McCranie, Tallahassee police spokesman, says, "Officer Gaston observed a male matching the description of the bank robber concealing himself in the bushes at a church that's only 50 to 75 feet from the bank."
Police say the stolen money was recovered, but the gun Brown implied he had never was.
