Two men who escaped from a Florida jail have just been captured by U.S. Marshals out west, and they say the two were armed and plotting a bank robbery.
Thirty-three-year-old Marty Finney and 20-year-old Edward Roberson escaped from the Indian River Jail December 1. Both men have ties to our area, and deputies say the local fugitive task force developed a lead here that led to them to Thornton, Colorado.
A spokesman with the Violent Fugitive Task Force says Finney and Roberson had a rifle and a handgun with them when they were caught, as well as a note ready to hand to a bank teller in the robbery they were planning.
