A handful of Tallahassee firefighters are turning in their boots after decades of hard work.
Wednesday retirees and friends gathered for a reception to honor the countless acts of heroism performed on a daily basis.
Those retiring were part of "C" shift, but can now look forward to other things in life. One of the first things on the list is a little relaxing.
Bobby Snow has been with TFD for 25 years and, "It's real rewarding to me, this is something we work for and work hard for, I've been here a long time, seen a lot of people come and go. It's just a reward."
The firefighters were honored with a cake and a plaque. They thanked the department, saying the other firefighters are like a family.
