Charges have just been dropped against a Wakulla County corrections officer who was accused of smuggling drugs in to inmates.
Timothy Ford was arrested last January after agents got a tip that he was expecting a shipment of marijuana and cocaine at a Tallahassee post office box.
Prosecutor Neil Chamelin says time has run out to pursue charges on the state level, but he is confident the feds will take up the case and present it to a federal grand jury.
Obviously, that hasn't happened yet. So for now, Ford is a free man, and according to attorney Tim Jansen is not facing any legal charges.
