There were some tense moments Sunday afternoon in one Tallahassee neighborhood.
Around 2 p.m. Tallahassee police were called to 301 Cactus Street to investigate a suspicious device. Officers say a resident spotted what looked like a grenade lying in the ditch.
Officers took proper precautions and called in a bomb specialist to evaluate the grenade.
SGT Judy Suchocki with the Tallahassee Police Department says, "It's a pineapple type grenade. It's actually a training grenade; it's not a live grenade or anything like that."
The bomb specialist disposed of the rust colored training grenade. No one knows how the device got in the ditch.
