Drug Charges Against Paramedic Dropped

A paramedic who was busted for stealing morphine from Leon County ambulances now has a clean slate.

Thirty-six-year-old Wesley Kling was arrested in November of 2004, accused of siphoning morphine out of ambulance syringes.

Felony charges against Kling were formally dropped Friday after he completed a year in the Leon County drug court.

His attorney, Alex Morris, says Kling was addicted to morphine in the wake of an injury, and in this case drug court did exactly what it was designed to do, which is to get the first time offender over his addiction and back on track without leaving a mark on his permanent record.
