Franklin County may not have to pay millions of dollars to keep its hospital after all. The director of county administration says Franklin County has successfully received the license for the hospital from the state.
Alan Pierce believes the county may be off the hook for the lien against the license, and plans to transfer the hospital over to new owners as soon as possible.
Pierce says with the transfer in place, there would be no need to raise a one cent sales tax.
