For the first time in the history of the Tallahassee Police Department's motorcycle unit dating back to the early 1930's, a female officer is riding along with the boys.

OFC Henni Hamby recently completed the training required to become a part of the unit. She's been on the road for about a month now. However, she's not new to the traffic unit. She's been a traffic homicide investigator for years.

So what inspired her to make the transition to two wheels?

"Just seeing them riding all the time, the excitement, and it's really a tremendous honor and it gives me a lot of pride to do this."

OFC Hamby says she couldn't have done it without the support of her family and her co-workers at the Tallahassee Police Department.
