The Thomas County Historical Society presented Fighting for Freedom Sunday afternoon at the Thomasville Museum of History.
Veteran Joe Chestnut shared his own experience as a World War II soldier. He also told stories of Thomas County soldiers who were fighters for freedom in that war.
"Well, of course, we owe a great debt to our World War II veterans and our mission at the Thomas County Historical Society is to collect, share, and preserve history," says Ann Harrison, the executive director of the Thomas County Historical Society.
Harrison says the audience appreciated hearing about Thomas County soldiers and their war experiences.
