FAMU art professor Omar Thompson presents his exhibit "Smiles and Cries" this month at the Tallahassee Community College Fine Art Gallery.
In his work, Thompson uses ordinary objects to convey powerful messages of social injustice.
"It's probably a history lesson of things we've gone through as African-Americans in this country, focusing on probably the lack of inclusion in the big picture of us in this country," says Thompson.
The exhibit runs through February 23 with an informal talk scheduled with Thompson for the 19th.
