Bush's Plan for Bringing High-Tech Jobs to Florida

Jeb Bush is proposing a wide-ranging economic development plan that adds up to $630 million.

The plan includes $200 million for research and worker training, $55 million to help bolster the space industry in Florida, and a $250 million slush fund that would be set aside for future projects.

Gov. Jeb Bush says, “We lead the nation in job growth. We have full employment, but now we need to really focus on how do we create high wage jobs, and the proposal we’ve laid out will be part of that strategy to diversify our economy towards these high wage jobs.”

Bush says the state has plenty of money to pay for the program, thanks to all the additional sales tax collections generated by hurricane reconstruction.
