Tuesday night the search was on for a 30-year-old woman from Tallahassee. She lives on the city's south side.
Neighbors in the Wilson Green neighborhood are as puzzled as police, and that's all it is at this point.
Thirty-year-old Ali Lisha Gilmore didn't show up for work on Friday and hasn't been seen since. Now, an entire neighborhood remains on edge.
Coming home is usually a relief for folks in the south Tallahassee neighborhood.
Anthony Barber, a neighbor and relative, says, "I'm shocked and appalled that something like this could possibly happen.”
Tallahassee police say 30-year-old Ali Lisha Gilmore, who's four months pregnant, has been missing since Friday. She reportedly works the Florida Department of Health and Publix supermarket and hasn't shown up there either.
Neighbors say she moved into the Wilson Green neighborhood a year and a half ago, and even before then it's always been quiet and peaceful.
Gina Balestri, a neighbor, says, "I consider this neighborhood to be fairly safe and to know that somebody just a few houses down from is missing is very shocking. I'm frightened for my own self."
With a chopper above, police spent much of Tuesday searching Gilmore's home for clues, anything that might tip off investigators to her whereabouts.
OFC John Newland of the Tallahasse Police Department said, "For a 30-year-old adult to be missing, we kinda wanna know where she's at."
As do her neighbors, wanting the safe return of a woman many call a good friend as well as their peace of mind.
McGee says, "The neighborhood is praying and hoping that we'll hear from her real soon. It's very sad; we're just hoping and praying that everything's ok."
Barber adds, "Maybe just went out hanging out or something. I just hope that everything is fine. Just went on a trip or something."
Neighbors do say that Gilmore originally lived with her husband but they have since separated and now Gilmore lives alone.
Police say it’s too early to speculate on whether he has anything to do with her disappearance. They do ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the Tallahassee Police Department.
