The Tallahassee Urban League takes a stand against drugs and violence in the community.
Thursday, the group held a special rally at the Florida Department of Corrections headquarters.
Leaders from various state agencies were also in attendance. The idea was to show residents that through unity, nothing is impossible.
"Sometimes they feel like they are alone and that they are the only ones in the fight. When we have rallies like this it reminds folks in the community that we are on their side, and we are doing everything we can to support their efforts as well," says Urban League Volunteer Monekka Cooper.
Friday the Urban League will host another rally at Florida A&M University involving area middle schoolers.
