An amazing discovery made in China has put an FSU professor in the international spotlight.

FSU biology professor Gregory Erickson is one of seven scientists studying what are reportedly the oldest dinosaur bones fossils found.

The bones are said to belong to a cousin of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

"Immediately when they started looking at the bones on this animal, they knew they were looking at something very special. Namely, it was a very complete animal, but it also seemed to have sort of a crest on its head, which is something unusual in meat eating dinosaurs," says FSU assistant biology professor Gregory Erickson.

The bones found in China will remain there in a museum. The Chinese have named the dinosaur Guanlong Wucaii, which is translated loosely to "crowned dragon of five colors."
