Taxes and health care are topics one would expect to hear thrown around the legislature, but what about the Holy Bible and the Ten Commandments?
Several state representatives, both democrat and republicans, proposed a new bill that would not only allow the Ten Commandments to be placed back into courthouses across the state, but it would allow public schools to teach a class based on the Bible.
Most people we talked to said, as long as the class was offered as an elective, they'd have no problem with a Bible class in schools.
Legislators have not passed the bill yet, but it seems support is mounting here in South Georgia. Another measure included in that same bill guarantees government employees and students the right to say “Merry Christmas.”
