February marks the beginning of swarming season for termites. That's because as the temperatures rise, the tiny insects search for new nesting sites.
Every year termites cause millions of dollars of damage to Florida homes, yet experts say treatments ranging from $600 to $2,000 could keep you from shelling out more.
Steve Dwinell says, "If you have a $200,000 or $100,000 home it's worth protecting with that amount of money. One thing people don't realize is that homeowner’s insurance does not cover termite damage."
Dwinell suggests getting estimates and a copy of a contract from at least three licensed companies.
