A Crawfordville man is dead after driving his car into a house early Saturday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say shortly before 2 a.m. 34-year-old Mark Chaney slammed his truck into a home on State Road 61 in Crawfordville.
Investigators don't know what caused Chaney to leave the road.
Two people were asleep in a nearby bedroom at the time of the accident but were not injured.
Brent Kuykendall, the resident’s son-in-law, says, "They're doing well, understandably shaken. It happened about 2 a.m., and so trying to get their grips about it and figure out what the next move is. Tonight they'll go in and stay with their son in Tallahassee."
FHP says Chaney was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he died. He was not wearing his seat belt. The resident's say their thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family.
