Ten-year-old Eli Ross has always dreamed of breaking a world record.
With the help of his classmates and thousands of kids across the globe, Eli will hopefully set a new world record for the largest lesson taught simultaneously.
Besides seeing their names appear in the Guinness Book of World records, there's an even greater payoff.
"To raise awareness for the amount of kids who don't get to go to school hopefully happen today,” explains Florida High teacher Zoe Mahoney.
At exactly 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, these fourth graders at Florida High, joined students worldwide, for a global lesson, on the number of children in other countries who don't have the opportunity to attend school.
Mahoney says given the current events she hopes her students will gain an understanding of the importance of being an American and protecting our rights and freedoms. Even though Eli isn't setting the world record on his own, he's still achieving his dream and perhaps helping others do the same.
