One of Gadsden County's high school ROTCs has earned the distinct honor of being the best in the state.
East Gadsden High School ROTC cadets have been a fixture in the community, parading and showcasing their talents at various events.
This weekend several students competed in Lakeland, Florida against some of the best schools in the state. Their hard work paid off as they took home several top trophies.
MSGT Jerome Kerrison says, "The commitment we try to instill in them is to continue to work hard no matter where you come from, Havana or Quincy. East Gadsden is a small school, but if you go out and execute them you can compete against the best and be the best."
The cadets won first place in male on arms squad regulation, beating out a military academy in Sarasota.
