Rick Dyke is accused of molesting a young girl 27 years ago from the time she was 10 years old until she was 13.
In court, prosecutors argued that Dyke should remain in jail and played a tape of a recent phone conversation in which the victim confronted Dyke about the abuse.
The defense brought forth more than a dozen witnesses including fellow bailiffs who vouched for Dyke's character.
Frank Sheffield, defense attorney, said, "I think he's entitled to bond. I think our presentation is clear that he's entitled to bond. I think case law supports he's entitled to bond and I would certainly expect it to be granted."
The defense requests a bond between $20,000 and $25,000. The judge plans to hand down her decision within the next 24 hours.
