Some local artists are honored at the R. A. Gray Museum in downtown Tallahassee.

The awards ceremony is part of Florida Heritage Month which recognizes artists from all over the Sunshine State.

Among those in attendance were Gov. Jeb Bush, First Lady Columba Bush and Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings.

The most prestigious award, the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, was awarded to Tallahassee sculptor Sandy Proctor.
