FAMU Day at the Capitol

Meanwhile Florida A&M University found high ground, but for a good reason.

As a way to remind lawmakers about their needs, the University held FAMU Day on the top floor of the capitol building.

With just one day to shine, Florida A&M University is trying to make the most of it.

Legislators were then invited to the top floor of the capitol building to see what FAMU is all about.

President Fred Gainous says his plan is to meet with lawmakers one on one.

Famu trustee Barney Bishop says this year that mission will include a great need for construction dollars.

State Rep. Curtis Richardson is supportive of FAMU’s need for new buildings, including FAMU High.

However he knows the university is up against some tough competition.

And Florida State University will be strutting its stuff at the capitol on April 2.
