An internal investigation is underway at the Leon County Sheriff's Department.

After some peace activists complained sheriff's deputies treated them unfairly at a recent county commission meeting.

Leon commissioners considered a war resolution at their Feb. 25 meeting.

The issue brought out about 200 residents. The commission chambers were so packed, some attendees had to sit outside

In a waiting area and watch the meeting on a screen. Afterwards, someone filed a complaint that deputies allowed "pro-war" speakers to enter the main chambers but denied entry to peace advocates. The sheriff's department is looking into that allegation.
