Officials say a case of tuberculosis has been confirmed in a patient who was being treated at Archbold Hospital. The confirmed case was found in a patient who was being treated at the hospital for another illness.
Now, officials from both the Health Department and Archbold Hospital are working together to identify and contact anyone who may have come in contact with the disease.
Susan Refearn of the Thomas County Health Department says, "If they receive a letter in the mail, they need to come to the Health Department and be tested, and the letters are very specific and tell them the dates to be tested. If anyone is concerned about being exposed to TB they can give us a call."
That number is 229-226-4241. Health experts say the majority of people exposed to TB will not develop the disease.
