Hurricane "Zolo" is set to strike in two weeks, a fake Category 2 hurricane aimed directly for Tallahassee.
The storm exercise comes on the heels of last year's Hurricane Armando exercise, and is designed to help neighborhoods prepare for before, during, and after the storm.
"With the neighborhood doing some of that footwork, the needs assessment, it truly makes he communities ability to respond from firefighters, to law enforcement, to emergency management to red cross a whole lot smoother and provide much more coordinated efforts,” says Chris Floyd of the Capital Area Red Cross.
The exercise kicks off on April 29. Any neighborhoods interested in taking part are asked to contact the Capital Area Red Cross before then.
