The Post Office is not extending hours for tax day this year, which is Monday, April 17.
Postmaster Mike Halter says say locations around the area will close at their normal times, yet you can still mail your returns after regular business hours using the automated postal center machine at the Centerville location and the main Post Office.
Mike Halter says, "Do plan on picking up outside collection boxes located Westside, Centerville and the main station up until midnight, so customers can still mail returns and will be marked as of the 17th."
Preparations are being made for extra collection box pickups.
Early birds and electronic filers are reasons for not extending hours. The Post Office says it isn't seeing the last minute crowds it once did.
