The rainy weather Saturday morning couldn't stop a group of people from raising money for a good cause.
They were walking to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The 6.2 mile track got cut a little short because of the downpour, but organizers say that doesn't stop them from bringing in the bucks to help with research.
Liza Wrobel with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation said, "Our annual goal is to raise $32 million just this year through Great Strides Campaign, so having Tallahassee and Big Bend area be part of it, that's huge to have!"
Angela Partin's six-year-old son JC has cystic fibrosis and said, "We can't do it without the community support. The CF community itself is kind of small, it doesn't, like the Cancer Society everyone is affected or knows someone who has it, everybody is affected by it. CF is a more limited population."
"Great Strides: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis" is a national event. This is the seventh year the Big Bend has taken part in the fundraiser.
