Leon County deputies got more then they bargained for as they worked the scene of an early morning accident.
Deputies shut down parts of Meridian Road to investigate a car accident near Timberlane Road where 18-year-old Blair Wood crashed his vehicle. Deputies say this accident is alcohol related.
As deputies directed traffic on the scene, two cars traveling at a high rate of speed injured a deputy as he tried to jump out of the way.
DEP Don Ottom was treated and released for his injuries. Following a pursuit, deputies arrested one of the drivers, 22-year-old Michael Lindsey.
Authorities discovered crack cocaine and a gun in his car. Lindsey faces numerous felony charges including possession of crack with the intent to sell, aggravated fleeing and alluding, and felony DUI with personal injury.
The second driver remains at large.
