Florida's hard hit shrimp, crab and clam fishing industry is getting a helping hand from Washington.
Fishermen hammered by freezes over the past winter, will receive low-interest federal loans to rebuild.
The state estimates the freezes temporarily put more than 2,000 people out of work with income losses of more than $28 million.
A request for disaster unemployment assistance to help individuals still is pending. Those who suffered agricultural losses can also get help.
The disaster declaration includes those in Franklin, Gulf, Dixie, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison and Wakulla counties.
