Florida's state parks are getting high marks from visitors, according to a survey released by Florida State University.

Starting in the spring of 2005 some 30,000 surveys were distributed at 25 parks throughout the state. More than 53 percent of respondents rated their visit a 10 on a 10-point scale.

The findings of this study are valuable to the Florida Park Service as decisions are made to improve overall park experiences.

Florida's parks system is reportedly one of the largest in the country with 159 parks that span more than 723,000 acres and 100 miles of beach.
