Families at Tallahassee's HOPE Community say their home away from home is "homier" than ever, especially for their children.
Wednesday, adults and children alike celebrated the expansion of the playground and recreation area.
The community's 27 children can now enjoy a new wooden swing set and miniature basketball court.
Parents say they feel fortunate their families are.
"It's really convenient because it gives a more of a homelike feeling and it’s easy for them to adjust, you know, having a playground and being able to interact with all the other kids," said Shirell Foley, who lives at HOPE Community with her four children.
Mayor Marks and Leon County Commissioner Ed Depuy presented certificates to those children who made the honor roll this spring semester.
