FSU trustees tackled tuition and teacher pay raises during a meeting of the full board Friday.

Trustees voted in favor of a three percent tuition increase for graduate students and a 10 percent increase for first year law school students.

In addition, university officials successfully negotiated contracts with faculty union members, but the issue of faculty pay remains open on the table.

"We were given a briefing on the process to deal with an impasse between the university and the United Faculty of Florida. This summer, each group will give a presentation to a subcommittee of the board and then the full board will render a decision," says FSU provost Larry Abele.

University officials are also searching for someone to head up the school's foundation. FSU President T.K. Wetherell hopes to have the permanent post filled by August.
