The procedure is called Balloon Sinuplasty by Acclarent and one local doctor says it's making the lives of his patients with Sinusitis much easier. The Tallahassee Memorial Hospital says 37-million Americans suffer from the health problem causing blocked sinus passageways.
The local doctor, Adrian Roberts, M.D., who performs the Balloon Sinuplasty in Tallahassee has been happy with the results. "The Balloon Sinuplasty is less traumatic to the tissues that we're working with up in the nose and the benefits of that are that the patients have less discomfort. They heal more quickly. They have less bleeding." said Dr. Roberts.
For more information on Balloon Sinuplasty, it can be found on the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital web site. See below for a quick link.
Dr. Myrle Grate, MD, at Capital Regional Medical Center has also been performing this procedure since April 2007.
