The so called "Doggie Dining Law” allows dogs to dine with their owners as long as the animals remain in the outdoor eating areas.
Local restaurant owners say welcoming pets at their establishments has been a Tallahassee tradition for years.
Dave Pickett, owner of The Main Ingredient, said, "If my guests want to come and bring their pets and have a good time, we want to make sure they feel good here so we have outside dining so please bring your dogs. So the law doesn't have a lot of impact on how we operate our business."
Restaurant owners say they are not worried about dogs behaving badly. They say the majority patrons that bring their pets to restaurants have animals that are social and on a leash.
