A whopping 86 percent polled say they would like to see utility cables in the county underground to avoid storm damages and outages.
Another hot topic: increasing the local sales tax. The one-half percent hike would benefit residents without health insurance. 59 percent of those polled are in favor.
Traci Owens, a Leon County resident, said, "I think it'll be beneficial. We have a lot of low income residents in this county that get turned away quite often for health care due to their income, and I just think adding just a little bit more to sales tax is not going to make or break us and if it's going towards something positive like health care, I'm all for it."
However, one issue residents do not like is the commission's decision to redirect road improvements from Capital Circle to Mahan Drive.
