A missing child alert was issued Friday for an infant taken from a Tallahassee hospital by his mother. The state was in the process of getting custody of the child when his mother took him Thursday night.
Authorities say 28-year-old Melody Robinson cut a monitoring device off four-day-old Daniel Robinson shortly before 10 p.m.
Police say she walked out the front door of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital holding a bag. It's believed the baby was in the bag.
Melody Robinson was last scene wearing a hospital gown.
Daniel was last seen wearing a blue and white T-shirt and blue and white cap.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Tallahassee police.
