A 28-year-old mother who took her four-day-old infant from Tallahassee Friday morning has been taken into custody at a house in Blountstown, Florida, and her baby has been safely recovered.
Melody Robinson gave birth to Daniel Robinson Monday, but the Florida Department of Children and Families was already preparing paperwork barring Robinson from having contact with her son.
Authorities say Melody Robinson cut a monitoring device off her son shortly before 10 p.m. Police say she walked out the front door of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital holding a bag. It's believed the baby was in the bag.
There will be more details on how the mother and baby were found as they become available.
